Plantings along roadsides help create pollinator habitat and the plants used can have a variety of uses. Black chokeberry is the only species of Aronia native to Minnesota. Valued in landscaping for its three seasons of color, the berries are high in antioxidants and are used to make jellies and fruit drinks.
