Virginia bluebells can grow en masse in the floodplains and moist woodlands of southeastern Minnesota. Although this spring ephemeral grows up to 2.5 feet tall, it doesn’t out-compete other plants. The pink buds turn into blue-lavender, bell-shaped flowers that attract bees, butterflies and moths.
