This training will introduce Pheasants Forever staff and other partner agency staff on what UAS is as well as the history, anatomy, and different applications of UAS. This training will also cover the procedures of a preflight check, how to operate the UAS after liftoff and how to go about obtaining a license from the Federal Aviation Administration in order to fly. Another important component to this training will be comparing aerial photos of CRP and easements (RIM, CREP, etc) taken by a UAS with what can be seen on the ground. The goal of doing this will be to educate staff on how to build their photo interpretation skills of native grasses, native forbs, introduced grasses, invasive or obnoxious vegetation, and trees.
